Has it become the developers culture???

Whenever the developer gets a requirement , he goes on to work on it.. There are separate teams to do the analysis and use case documents and teams to develop the coding and teams to test them..
Even in the development team , we have the front end team, back end team and the middle tier team..
I was wondering what a kind of co-ordination is done here and i was amazed. Later i came to know about this co-ordination correctly.
I was asked to get knowledge gaining about a project from one of my seniors and guess what, he did not have answers for some(most) of my questions..
I don’t say he doesn’t knows, he knows what will happen if i click on this and on this, if i ask him why he has no answers.
I then started to notice and found many people like who are like him.
They says “things you type here should be displayed there, things displayed here will come out there” , but they  don’t know like the purpose of the text being displayed there…
Later i could guess the understand the use.One thing for sure is – the coding done was excellently done, without any chance of errors, I never thought you can code so beautifully (Yes, i  mean it) and they are least bothered about why it goes that way , They make sure it goes that way. You may say yes that is their work , still i can compare this with the work of a robot only.
Cant there be a more general understanding of the project before starting to code . Yes, i know one cannot do all  the modules of the project but he can know the basic flow of the project right….

Has it become the developers culture???

The problem is not with the Developers, it is with the management. A developer is not given enough time for analysis, he is just asked to fix or develop a particular phase. This is due to the time factor, managements take up bids quoting pretty less time( we cant blame them, then only we can win the bid). So it is groomed like that. Moreover, from one point of view, everything is not necessary for a developer. They are just told this, “Know your block, make your piece of the wheel. it will rotate”.

    @ bala
Anyway, time constraint or what ever , if a little interest shown towards knowing the use, i think they can them self understand the use of their work.. The most difficult part of the app is to code and make it work and mostly they make app user friendly . They can do the difficult part cant they make out the easy part …????????
