February 18, 2007 is the first day ofChinese new year.
It seems every year is named after one of the 12 animal names in an order and people keep track of thier age by which animal year they were born.
Any one who was born in the Year of Dog is now either 0 or 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84 or 96 years old.Some people even forget their age it seems….
As i got interested in chinese culture i read about them . Here are some interesting facts…
The Chinese word calls one day as one ‘Sun’ and a month is simply a ‘Moon’ and for ‘Year’it is ‘Nian’.
A day i mean one sun is counted as 12 partitions . With one partition consisting of two hours called a double hour.The double-hours are not numbered as 1 – 12. Instead they are named in the order of the twelve “earthly branch” names:
zi chou yi mao chen si wu wei shen you xu hai
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12
Think of these as the roman numerals on modern-day clocks.
