The Broken Pencil
When Teddy was young (i mean too young enough to go primary school), Teddy used to sit near her two friends Ashref and Prathiba . It was a bright sunny day, teddy went to school. Teddy was in the English class. Teddy was sitting with Ashref (on the right) and Prathiba (on the left) . That was a blue day as Prathiba had brought a new pencil which was longer than a the normal pencil(about this long pencil —-
1) this was as long as 3 pencils glued together vertically
2) this was very famous that time
3) owning it was a pride at that time )
The proud owner of the new pencil gave a glance of it to our Teddy. Teddy was immensely happy and surprised to see it.
Suddenly teddy was disturbed by a thought, teddy asked Prathiba “it is so long , wont it break easily?” . At this time teddy’s friend ashref was a silent spectator.
The proud owner said ” this is the new strong pencil” and threw out a challenge “it wont break, try to break it if u can”.
Our innocent teddy took the challenge and asked her again “are u sure can I try my friend”. Prathiba quite confident of the words of the sales man who gave her the pencil said ” ya ya try, it wont” .Our strong teddy just held it tight and their was a loud noise” patak” … oh a moment of silent in the bench. Everybody in the bench rushed to see THE THING-Pencil.
Teddy opened the eyes to see one pencil in left hand and one pencil in the right hand. Just then our silent spectator broke out to laugh… Water peeked out of Prathiba’s eyes. Teddy just realized that something wrong has happened and handed over the two parts of pencils to its proud owner .By the time tears were starting to flow of Prathiba’s eyes and Ashref was laughing all over her.
Poor thing teddy had no words to express her??????????????????
i don’t know victory or disappointment or happiness or sadness..
